HI List.. my greatgrandparents were as we are told, and research seems to
confire were JOHN "JACK" & NANCY MAYES MOORE.
of CLAIBORNE County, TN. now why i'm posting here is several reasons. 1.
a son of theirs stated his dad was from TX, as well as he himself was
born there. he was born 1863. ok now a question
if he got my grandmother in 1861-62. how safe was travel to TX from east
TN. 50 miles north of KNOXVILLE during the CIVIL WAR?. i got to thinking
if JACK was from TX and he met my
g-granny NANCY age 15 in 1860 census.could he have been wounded? and she
went with him to help?. they had these kids,
JEFF,, HOUSTON,,WILL,,JOHN MARION,, my gramps,,AGNES,, &
ELIZABETH,,"LIZZY". all stayed in CLAIBORNE & KNOX Cos.TN.
1 son is missing WILL. he was a gambler. so seems that if any were really
born in TX some would have went back. so if anyone may be of help e me
direct as i won't be on the list long.i have a
webpage more info & photos. also on it is a
huge LEWIS SURNAMES,,from a book. many marriages,children,
places they moved..theres GOIN in TX & other names. 1 i'm searching hard
is MOORE...theres a MOORE killed at the ALAMO on this list..heres my hp
addy..... http://tippytnn.topcities.com/moore/moore.htm
Researching (this name most wanted: MOORE.) MAYES,SMITH,
